Deven is an amazing trainer! I am so happy with how well behaved my dog Mia is and how much she learned by training with him. Its been 7 years now since she was first trained and I still get people asking for his name and number because of how well behaved she is. If you’re looking for a trainer, absolutely go with Deven.
I used Deven to train my dog to meet my medical needs. He even passed an independent public access test validating his training and fulfills his responsibilities successfully.
I had the pleasure of working with DK9 Solutions (Deven) to help train our first dog, Janani (Belgian Malinois). This was our first dog ever. Everyone scared us that we got a dog that we cannot manage. We liked Janani so much that we did not want to give up. From the moment we met Deven, it was clear that he had a deep understanding and love for dogs. Janani can be anxious in new situations, but Deven was patient and reassuring, helping Janani feel comfortable and safe during our training sessions. We did not even know how to walk Janani. First thing Deven showed us how to walk the dog, how to use the collar and how to control her walking. This gave us so much confidence that we can keep her.
Deven took the time to listen to our concerns and understand Janani’s background and our background before tailoring a training plan to address her specific needs. His positive reinforcement-based approach was gentle yet effective, and he always made sure to explain the reasoning behind each exercise. Now we use all that he taught us daily, marker, down, recall,placing her when someone visits, using Ecollar and much more.
We couldn’t be happier with the experience. Deven is a true professional who genuinely cares about the well-being of his clients and their dogs. I would highly recommend his services to anyone in need of a skilled and compassionate dog trainer. We thought we got more for the value for the money we spent. Been extremely happy with my experience with DK9. Xena was a wild rescue dog found in the desert that was void of much human contact, so was plenty of work. I began working with Deven and learning to train her. She is now the easiest dog i’ve ever walked on a leash, has great recall. its night and day from where she started and my trusted companion that I can trust around my family and grandchildren.
My experience with Deven was exceptional. At first I was nervous and apprehensive when hiring a dog trainer, but I am completely satisfied with the choice that I made. Deven came to my home and took extra time making sure that my 100 pound Rottweiler and I were comfortable with what was going on.

We made the decision to hire a trainer because our German Shepherd, Abe, was having so many issues and one of the big ones had to be spacial pressure anytime a dog or person would get too close. After we vetted a few we decided on Deven based on his philosophy about training and his demeanor. For example, Abe used to be extremely hesitant about going up and down on the A frame structure as part of his anxiety training. Well, today he actually went over it without any problems. It was definitely a triumph for us and Abe!
In such a short amount of time Deven has been able to accomplish so much with our boy & we are so thankful for all of his help. Currently, we are learning proper leash management as well as when to use correction, marking and targeting in order to teach Abe where he is supposed to be, which is right next to us. We know that there is still so much work left to do but so far it has been an awesome journey seeing our Abe grow.

We have been working with DK9 for about 6 months and I can honestly say that Deven is an expert in dog behavior. He knows the best equipment to use and stresses the importance of socialization during all of my training sessions. Of course, the training is really for the owner because it takes so much time and commitment in order to get the results you want or need.
My two Pitbull Catahoula dogs are able to do things I never thought were possible. For example, they go to their beds on command and lie there calmly until I release them, even when the doorbell rings! They're pretty much the best behaved dogs no matter where I take them. Currently, we are working towards being able to walk them off leash.
I like that Deven will either come to your house, or work with you at the Arizona Canine Center in Chandler. He also offers a day training camp, where he picks them up and drops them off for you. He works and plays with them for 4 hours straight and it seriously helps me balance out my day to day. I highly recommend DK9 Solutions. I don't know how I would have been able to care for both of my big babies without Deven.
